Adult Content Age Assurance Standard

Scope

This standard applies to access to adult material and other age-restricted services provided by Only Rule 34.

The platform is intended for adults aged 18 and above. We use reasonable age assurance measures to help prevent people below the applicable minimum age from accessing restricted material and to address legal and regulatory obligations concerning age-restricted online services.

The exact requirements may differ between countries because age assurance rules and accepted verification methods are not necessarily the same in every jurisdiction.

Circumstances Requiring an Age Check

An age check may be presented when a user attempts to access adult content or a feature for which proof or confirmation of age is required.

The circumstances in which this happens may be determined by:

The laws applicable in the user's jurisdiction;
Regulatory requirements or official guidance;
The user's location;
The particular content or service involved; or
Changes to the platform's compliance and safety procedures.

Where applicable requirements change, Only Rule 34 may update its controls or introduce additional forms of age assurance.

Methods We May Use

Age assurance does not necessarily require the same procedure for every user. Depending on the relevant jurisdiction and circumstances, Only Rule 34 may use:

A direct age confirmation;
A specialist third-party age verification service;
Verification against government-issued identification;
Another method that is reasonably designed to establish that the required age has been reached.

A verification provider may operate the technical aspects of a check on our behalf. The information requested and the process followed can therefore vary according to the method being used.

Data Minimization and Privacy

Age assurance may require personal information to be submitted or processed. Only Rule 34 aims to limit the information involved to what is needed for the specific verification purpose.

Where an external provider conducts the check, that provider may independently process submitted information according to its applicable privacy documentation and legal obligations.

Where feasible, Only Rule 34 is designed to receive a confirmation of whether the age requirement has been satisfied instead of retaining unnecessary identity information.

Age assurance-related processing may support the following purposes:

Determining whether a user can access restricted content or features;
Reducing the risk of access by minors;
Fulfilling statutory or regulatory requirements; and
Protecting the platform from misuse and maintaining its security.

Rules for Publishers and Creators

Anyone permitted to upload or publish content on Only Rule 34 must first complete the platform's applicable identity and age verification requirements.

The responsibility for ensuring that uploaded material contains adults only rests with the creator as well. Before publishing content, creators must confirm that each person depicted is of legal adult age and that all required consent, authorization, and other relevant rights have been obtained.

Non-compliance can result in the removal of content and action against the creator's account, including suspension or termination.

False Information and Circumvention

Age restrictions must be respected. Users may not deliberately provide misleading information or interfere with a verification process in order to obtain access they would otherwise be unable to obtain.

Examples include using a false date of birth, submitting someone else's identity information, presenting falsified identification, manipulating technical verification systems, or otherwise attempting to defeat an age control.

Depending on the circumstances, Only Rule 34 may respond by restricting or suspending an account, terminating the account, or taking other measures permitted under our policies and applicable law.

Verification Problems

A user who does not complete a required verification procedure may not be able to access the relevant adult content or restricted feature.

We may also refuse or withdraw access where the available verification information does not provide a reasonable basis for establishing that the user meets the applicable age requirement.

Review of This Standard

We periodically review our age assurance practices to account for developments in legislation, regulatory guidance, technology, and industry standards.

This document may be amended as those developments occur or when we change the way age assurance is implemented on the platform. The current version and its revision date will be displayed on this page.
